Time ~ What is it Exactly???

Page 69 of 366. Where do I even begin with this entry??? According to the world and our government, time is supposed to change tonight... You know the whole "Spring forward. Fall back" kinda deal. I always found this utterly ridiculous since time is a man-made thing; why do we even change the clock at all??? At the end of the day, isn't time irrelevant?

I prefer to not even look at the clock, to be honest, most days I have no clue what day it even is. Can someone also explain to me, how most of the world observes it, but some States don't... make that make sense!!!

While I was traveling for months last summer and fall, I never understood the time zones. I mean WHY? Could you imagine living on the line of two time zones??? How screwed up it would be that you're on one time, but your neighbour is an hour ahead or behind you...

Albeit there is an interesting history behind Daylight Savings Time (DST), none of it really has anything to do with today's society. Here's a lil history lesson for you...

World War I marked the first significant implementation of DST. On April 30, 1916, Germany and Austria adopted a one-hour clock shift to conserve electricity needed for the war effort. The UK and several other European nations followed suit shortly after.

The idea was that by adjusting the clocks forward during spring and backward during fall, people could make better use of natural daylight. Longer daylight hours meant less reliance on artificial lighting and energy consumption.

In the United States, DST was also introduced during World War I but was later repealed in 1919. It was re-instituted during World War II by President Franklin D. Roosevelt to save energy resources.

WHEN I SAY THAT THESE TIME CHANGES ARE MAN-MADE... THEY LITERALLY ARE. iF YOU THINK ABOUT IT, NOTHING IN THE DAY CHANGES FOR U,S AS PEOPLE, IT WAS ONLY CHANGED FOR CONVENIENCE SAKE!!!

British construction magnate William Willett proposed the idea of adjusting clocks by 80 minutes each spring and fall to give people more time for daytime recreation. His tireless advocacy for what he called “Summer Time” laid the groundwork for DST.  The Uniform Time Act of 1966 standardized DST across the United States, setting its start and end times in April and October (later changed to March and November in 2007).

Honestly, I call bullshit on all of it. Nowadays, we are billed out the ass for energy consumption, regardless of the time. I would even say, the DST has caused us even more consumption because we have longer days in the summer, and require to be cooler longer... using airconditioners, costing us all a fortune just to adjust to the levels of temperatures we reach, especially in recent years... well, minus last year, which was quite rainy (No complaints here).

Like I said at the beginning of my post, this DST is a total waste of time and was only created by men.... for men. If that makes sense!!! Anyways, that is my 2 cents for today.

Stay safe. Stay warm/cool. Be well. Be loved. Blessed Be my lovies.
