Thor's Day Again.... Time is Flying

Page 151 of 366. Good Morning Lovies. As per usual, I always hope you all have a great day, may the sun meet your face and shine brightly for you all day long. For those riding, may you "keep your knees to the breeze, rubber side down", OR as I like to say, "Four wheels move your body, but two wheels move your soul!!!"

Either way... I have the deepest hope that you all have a blessed day.

I am waking this morning with peace in my heart, although I am troubled by things I cannot change and am not close enough to do anything about. Frustrating life situations, unfortunately!!!

The one thing I want to share today is that now that the beautiful weather is upon us, I need to reiterate that a lot of friends, family and loved ones are out on two (or three) wheels for the next few months; I implore those who are driving vehicles to keep their eyes open and be more aware of their surroundings as we lose far too many people in every riding season. It's a difficult pill to swallow knowing how preventable these "accidents" really are.

Teach your children from a young age when you are driving anywhere for them to count bikes as they see them when you drive around. This will embed it into their young brains and as they grow older, it will become a natural thing for them to do, when they, themselves become drivers.

I often wonder why people, not all people, but a lot of drivers feel that the road belongs to them and that they have this certain perception of people on motorcycles; but you need to get that prejudicial view out of your head... I don't give a crap if they are just people who enjoy riding bikes, or if they belong to clubs, are covered in ink or leather... they are people, just like the rest of us. They are loved by others. They are someone's mother/father, daughter/son, sister/brother, wife/husband... Them being on two wheels doesn't make them any less of a person than you, no matter what you think or feel. There is a reason I am saying this....

I am not going to mention names, but the riding season has barely began and already today, the community is burying one they loved and will deeply miss. Why??? Because some asshole decided to run a stop sign and this person died as a consequence of their reckless behaviour. I personally did not know this person, but I know people who knew her and are deeply mourning the loss. My heart goes out to each and every one of them today. May she soar high. RiP!!!

I can't get into too much about the details of the situation, but I can continue to advocate for all the people I love who are out there riding, especially since the riding season here is so limited because of our crazy ass weather. I will continue to plead with people to keep their eyes more open and be aware of truly how vulnerable a rider is compared to someone in a vehicle. I will continue to ask for protection of my loved ones who are simply getting out to get some wind therapy and enjoying the few months they can.

For those of you who have never been on a bike, you cannot possibly understand how therapeutic it is, with nothing but the wind in your face and the open road in front of you. I'm hoping that everyone stays safe this summer and gets to enjoy what life has to offer, since who knows what this world is coming to in the next little while.

(I am not making this a political post, I just want everyone to be able to travel and arrive alive on each and every trip they take... it truly is that simple). Stay blessed my Lovies.
