Another Delightful Hump Day (Note the Sarcasm)

Good Afternoon Lovies. Happy Hump Day!!! I cannot say that I got to enjoy that kind of pleasure today, although I DID get fucked!!!

Let's see, around 5am this morning, I was rushed by ambulance to the hospital, yet again; but this time I was going with the power of information and the knowledge of my family doctor standing firmly behind me.

This is my fourth visit in two months for the same issue... to put it simply, I have internal bleeding, and although many of us had hoped after my 9 day stay in May would be the last we'd see blood pouring out of my mouth.... yah, NOT SO MUCH!!!

This is about my delightful visits to the ER. I wasn't going to get into extensive details (but what would this blog be, if I didn't), after that visit, I had a couple emergency visits that were pretty nasty, and the staff were very ignorant, in the truest sense of the word.

Not one of them bothered to read my chart, or they would have known what was going on, one doctor was saying no tylenol, another was saying to give me tylenol; and another was saying morphine. It was at that point that I simply asked if they were trying to kill me? I wasn't there for medication, I was there for the internal bleeding...

After 24 hours of being in the ER, even though I was admitted and waiting for a room on the GI floor, within twenty minutes of my arrival.... TWENTY-FOUR HOURS later, I am still laying on a stretcher in the ER hallway, a complete breech of my privacy... two nurses come to tell me that the specialists have figured that it was pancreatitis and were putting a second IV in me for whatever was coming next.

They left the room, then a doctor I had never met came in and said they were discharging me because they were fairly certain it was a nose bleed. I had my IVs removed as the nurse asked if I was going to sign an AMA (Against Medical Advice) form. I pointed to the doctor who just spoke to me. Told her "that dumb fuck just discharged me."

Both nurses were shocked, but another doctor who had nothing to do with my case, turns to me and asks "what do you expect us to do?" Those who know me, know that I am still being quite calm and rational at this point, and would be shocked I actually stayed at the hospital at all... well I looked that doctor right in the eye and said, "I don't know... Maybe your fucking job!!! You're a doctor aren't ya??? I am internally bleeding, my sugars are in the 30s, but my blood pressure is 80 over 95 BUT you geniuses are releasing me from the hospital and want me to go to the pain clinic....

AND THERE IT IS FOLKS!!!!  THE PAIN CLINIC!!!

(Why would a pain clinic be necessary if this was simply a nose bleed???)

Now this dumb bytch has pissed me off beyond the point of no return. I said it is doctors like her that created the opioid crisis our city, provinces and countries are dealing with now. I wasn't there for pain relief, I was there for the blood pouring out of my mouth, not pain. I turned my back on her and was already on the phone with patient relations. I am sick and tired of these damn hospitals and doctors getting away with doing half ass jobs.

Yah. Yah. You're gonna tell me they are overworked and understaffed... that's the governments problem. I am taking this up the chain... no more fucking jokes.... no more games... this is MY life, they are playing with. I have contacted the patient ombudsman, and onto the college of surgeons and physicians...

I am going to end this blurb on somewhat of a "happy??" note...

The ER visit today, I went to an entirely new hospital, treated me very well. They did exactly what has always been done, (pretty sad when you could do the routine yourself blindfolded). On top of that, they figured out where the internal bleed was within 5 hours of me being there. I am not too happy about the results... but I am beyond happy there is an answer and something we can work with. Next steps are surgery...

Stay safe. Stay cool. Be well. Be blessed. Most of all be loved, you beautiful souls!!!
