I Just Can't Help It Part 2

I am just going to continue where I left off, while this is all fresh in my mind...

I cannot understand why he is still able to be Prime Minister as he violated millions of people's rights and freedoms; but I won't pretend to know all this political stuff. I just know that he destroyed our country, right now, way beyond repair... which leads me to what I was actually going to talk about, in the first place.

When all this happened, small businesses were shut down, families couldn't visit each other, schools were closed, people were forced to get the jab (although, thankfully a lot of people chose to fight for their right to not get it done too). Not only did the government destroy our sense of family and community, it destroyed people mentally, emotionally, physically and financially.

People lost their jobs, their homes, their cars, all their money; all while the government was making new laws and bylaws, increasing taxes and removing laws that protected the vulnerable. It shut down mental health facilities. Started a "catch and release"program, basically, arresting criminals, and releasing them to the very streets they just caught them on.

Our country was pouring out money... most of the country is living paycheck to paycheck, or below the line of poverty; while those azzholes who live their posh lives, removed the cap on rent, increased taxes... invented new things to tax us on... like carbon tax... someone please explain that one to me. Like, us paying a carbon tax is going to save the planet... what??? While all the politicians and celebs use their own personal jets to go wherever, whenever??? Nah... I call BULLSHIT!!!

Now let me get to the part of these people riding donkeys...

Since the plandemic, people have resorted to living in tents, anywhere and everywhere. The thing that blows my mind is people are thinking this is all new.... ummmm, how old do you think SKIDROW is??? Or you just going to bury your head further in the sand, as your own fellow Canadians/Americans/Neighbours end up on the streets, or living in their cars, wondering where their next meal comes from, or IF they will even have another meal. It sickens me.

People are bitching about the mess the "unhoused" (the PC term for homeless... nah, I am not changing terminology so the hoity toity can feel goot about themselves!!!); calling them all junkies and disgusting, wastes of space. That our world could lose a few million people... WTF??? Remind me of that when the PURGE sirens are going off, okay?!!

I have to get this out, so let me say it...

I, myself, have never touched drugs but drugs has touched my life in many, many ways. I am not saying this to be snotty or as a self-righteous statement at all. I was born with FAS (Fetal Alcohol Syndrome). The woman who gave birth to me, was an alcoholic and a drug addict; so that gave me the drive to never touch drugs. I was terrified of becoming immediately addicted of anything I would try, so I just didn't. That being said... it doesn't mean that I didn't deal with addiction or alcoholism!!!

Friends and Family who are or were addicts/alcoholics. I may not have been with them through their journeys; but I have watched others slowly drink themselves to death; while others just can't take life anymore and overdose on whatever drug they can find. I have had partners who used drugs or alcohol (sometimes both) to self medicate from their painful pasts and childhoods. I have been places I never should have been, but at the same time, grateful I was because those moments humbled me.

I guess the bottom line is this...

Don't judge what you don't know. I "argue" with many people who just bash the homeless, calling them junkies. I simply ask

DO YOU KNOW WHY THEY STARTED TAKING DRUGS??? DO YOU KNOW WHY THEY ARE DRINKING SO MUCH??? ITS POSSIBLE THEY ARE SELF-MEDICATING BECAUSE NO ONE IS TRULY LISTENING TO WHAT THEY ARE CRYING OUT FOR. Some people just need to be heard. You scoffing that they are not reaching out for help is such a disturbing comment to me. It makes it crystal clear that you have never been remotely close to that position.

Shelters are full, and excessively invasive of your privacy to just get into one. You have to sleep with one eye open and hold all your possessions (if you even have any), against your body so they don't get stolen. Addiction centers are full and have waiting lists for who knows how long, and once in-house treatment is done, where do they turn??? These are all temporary solutions!!!

With the government taking away mental health facilities and taking millions of dollars away from any sort of mental health programs, those on the streets have nothing to help them cope. They can't get medications because they have no coverage; never mind have a doctor who will consistently see them, because let's be real, most of them probably have either lost their ID or it was stolen. So again, I implore you to rethink your views on all the people you see displaced because of our governments.

Grab a coffee or two, grab a sandwich or a few. Go sit with some of them, chat with them. Stop acting like every person who lives on the street is going to kill you, or rob you. YES, many of them are in "fight of flight" mode, but they are still HUMAN... So my question to you is this... who is MORE human, as in, who has the bigger heart, who is more compassionate???

That's my challenge to all you donkey-riders. Stay safe. Stay cool. Be well. Be blessed. Get out there and share a blessing with the downtrodden. It doesn't have to be much, a $2 coffee is not going to make or break you... but it could be the world to them. Think about it!!!
