It's Hump Day... But Hey...

Good Evening Lovies. Sorry, my mind is pretty foggy as I seriously am lacking a good restful sleep; but honestly, insomnia is nothing new to me... so I am just going to ride it out until my body literally just passes out from exhaustion.

It's a rather interesting day for me today. It is my female kitten's 1st birthday. She is ironically, and fittingly named "Karma Justice". She is the social butterfly of the house and is always happy to greet anyone who graces the front door of my place. She is excessively sweet, and has the tiniest of chirps when it comes to her being vocal... I really hope this never changes!!!

Today is also what society deems as "Devil's Night"...

To give you a little background history on this day... The roots of Devil's Night are a little murky, as the true origins differ, depending on who you talk to. It is believed to have started with a yearly tradition called "MISCHIEF NIGHT"; which originated in the 18th century in Britian (UK), and by the mid 20th century, pranksters in Detroit Michigan had started relatively minor forms of disturbances and destruction around their own city on October 30th.

(Please note that although it is celebrated now on October 30th, and November 4th, it was originally celebrated on April 30th!!!).

Devil's Night is an informal holiday on which children and adults alike pull pranks, jokes, vandalisms and parties.. although Devil's NIght is the most known name for tonight; it is also know as Gate Night, Goosey Night, Moving Night, Cabbage Night, Mystery NIght and Mat Night. It is traditionally observed (mostly) in Canada, Ireland, UK, USA and other places that aren't so prominent about it.

I don't want to go in excessive detail about the night;  but I CAN say that people are ill-informed when it comes to this night. It is claimed to have started in 1970; but it was proven that Puritan Philip Stubbs decries the May Day Eve mischief night as early as 1583, In some regions of England, it is part of r=bringing in the May, while some use it as marking it traditionally on November 4th, which is the night before Bonfire NIght, or the 30th of October, the night before Halloween.

Devil's Night holds a weird meaning to me... I got married to my first husband... in a church, nonetheless, on October 30th... if you know me, you know how ironic that is!!! Its was definitely an omen of what was to come. I don't know why people have named these days such ridiculous names and why they attach these names to the Christian/Catholic religion... they claim it to be a holy day and then a day of the saints, etc.

When are people truly going to see that ALL christian holidays were created and dated to coincide with Pagan holidays do they could get Pagans/Heathens to convert  to their new religions???

I guess I need to really end this blurb with this... just be you, always be you... NO ONE HAS THE RIGHT TO DISRESPECT YOU WHO YOU ARE AND WHAT YOU BELIEVE BUT, THEY ALSO NEED TO BE RESPECTFUL ENOUGH TO RESPECT YOUR VIEWS, AND IF THEY ARE ADAMENT ABOU THEIR SIDE; CHOOSE TO DISAGREE WITH OPEN HEARTS AND OPEN MINDS.

Simple facts... Stay safe. Stay real. Be well. Be  blessed. And as always.... be loved!!!
