Interesting Observation
Page 320 of 366. Good Afternoon Lovies. Today has been one of many little conversations on various subjects.
Discussing the boxing match between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul tonight to the Taylor Swift concert to the crazy post about the shooting death of a civilian here, in Hamilton last weekend.
I, of course, am SUPER stoked that the Double Blues, THE TORONTO ARGONAUTS are in the Grey Cup this weekend...
So it looks like it is a fun-filled few days ahead :)
I want to bounce around on a few things that I have been noticing a lot lately. I am in a group called THE LIES IN THE BIBLE; and for some reason, members are consistently bringing up people's races. I am finding this soooooo fucking annoying. I will repeat to no end... I am NOT a bible thumper. I am NOT a Christian. I do NOT agree with any sort of organized man-made religion; if you do, I mean no disrespect, we simply will agree to disagree.
When people continue to write that the Bible was written by white supremacists I have to step in. Others bicker, saying that they are constantly fighting with other members who don't believe in the Middle East... well let's speak rationally, shall we???
The Bible was written many, many, many centuries ago and has been translated sooooo much, that it is almost like playing the game "telephone" at this point... this however, is not my point...Anyone with half a brain, knows the Bible speaks of Israeli people, Jewish people, Egyptians, Ethiopians, etc... If people are going to deny that these people were brown-skinned (various shades); than there is no point in arguing with them because you are not the jackass whisperer!!!
It is like saying that Africans are black people, when in reality, they are not black at all, they may have a very dark brown complexion; but they are NOT black!!! What was it I heard... all of us are different shades of wheat!!! I don't know who told me this, but I love that saying :)
I DO agree that the images of what people perceived who and what was in the Bible was changed to fit the narrative of that time period...
YES, I AM talking about them making Jesus, some light-skinned, blonde, blue-eyed man. They mainly did this to appease their current followers and to entice the Heathens aka Pagans to convert; even changing the calendar to coincide with the celebrations Pagans' had. MY problem is that as people argue about skin-colour, they tend to forget, or dismiss that they are throwing all "white" people into one category... as "Europeans" or whatever. Excuse me???
First off, Italians (Romans), Greeks, Spanish, Portuguese, Sicilians, etc are not white. The only white people are Albinos!!! Even Dutch, German, Polish, Russian, Ukrainian are not even white... I'll give that they are light skinned, but they are not white.Like look at my ancestors. I have Irish and Scottish, so yes I have some very light-skinned ancestors, but I also have Norse... and this is where people seem to get it very wrong... Norse people were actually dark-skinned with blue eyes!!! Not these fantasized visions of tall, Vikings with blonde hair and stunning blue eyes.
So I really think people need to stop labelling everyone based on what they assume they are supposed to look like and see beyond that colour!!!
After saying all that, I understand why some people feel the need to defend their skin colour and/or race; and I am probably very naive, but fuck man, we are all of one race... the HUMAN RACE!!!
This is where I am ending this blurb... because I am going to lose my shit and say something people are not going to like if I continue down this road. So for now, I bid you adieu. Have a safe Friday.
