I Got Beef With....

Page 365 of 366. We are literally in the home-stretch of  ending 2024. How are you all, my Lovies??? I hope the day treats you well, and that you all are having a great day (inspite of it being Monday)...

I want to discuss something that can be a rather touchy subject with many people; but a necessary evil to talk about. This "disease" affects EVERYONE in one way, or another.

There isn't a single being in this world, who can say in good conscience that it doesn't intertwine in their life... either they are lying or can't accept what is!!!

I am talking about drug addiction (and alcoholism)!!! Bear with me, because, this is a touchy subject for me too, as it affected my life in ways I will not explain; but the reason I want to talk about it today is due to how the media presents certain things these days...

We have for decades, watched shows, movies, plays/broadway, etc. We tend to follow some of our favourite performers/actors/musicians (eg.), learning about their personal lives, reading some biographies, sometimes learning far more than we, as the public should really know BUT thanks to the paparazzi we get some explicit and intimate details that really are NOT any of our business. 

That being said, this is my topic today...

I am only going to mention a couple celebs at this point because they are some of the most recent ones that come to mind. I am talking about Matthew Perry and Liam Payne. Anyone who has watched the news or keeps an eye on the entertainment industry, know both these men are known for their (recent) deaths due to drug use. 

Liam Payne's death is currently being ruled a manslaughter case, with 5 people being charged with supplying him with cocaine.

Matthew Perry's death was the result of the acute effects of ketamine; where 5 people were also charged with his death.

THESE CASES RATTLE ME... THEY IRK ME!!!

WHY???

Why do the deaths of celebrities who die of overdoses mean sooooo much more to the world and judicial system, than those who are dying daily on our very streets? What makes it any different??? I know, many people who scoff constantly about the drug addicts who are displaced or homeless... complaining that they are the people who are ruining their cities, or devaluing their neighbourhoods... the encampments they live in are an eye-sore. 

All the superficial shit!!!

I guess what I am trying to say is this.... People, no matter where they are in society... poverty to the elite... no one is immune to the disease of addiction. No one can escape the wanting, the yearning, the craving... all the money in the world is not going to save them from it. 

At the end of the day, every person has their own story as to WHY they are where they are, and WHY they started their drug of choice. I really don't think that your status as a citizen... or rather, your rank in the tier of wealth should be what makes your life more valid!!! A death, one death, two deaths... ANY death is too many. 

I will never stop talking about this. I will never give up the fight. I will never turn my back on those who struggle. I will never judge who and why... Everyone deserves that ear. Everyone deserves that shoulder. Everyone deserves to be heard. Communication means absolutely nothing without comprehension.

Maybe that is what is soooo wrong with the world today... so many people are listening with their mouth!!!

Page 14 of 365. Good Afternoon Lovies. I really, really hope your day is going better than mine!!! Sorry, woke up at the asscrack of dawn, as I had a doctor's appointment this morning.  Thankfully it was with my family doctor; appointments with him are fairly painless.  Today, however; things kinda went sideways.  I am usually in and out within 10 mins for these appts, but today? FFS I Matter Too!!!

Good evening lovies. I have been struggling with something that is very close to my heart. I truly do not know where to proceed next. I'm going to try and make a very long story as simple as I can... I was adopted at 5months of age, (well apprehended at 5 months, adopted at 5 years). There is something that adoptees yearn for all their lives... WHY?  I know for me there were many questions and on my 19th birthday it appeared I was going to get those answers when I met the woman who birthed me. Unfortunately, I was sorely mistaken!!! Years went by, and I allowed this woman to have control over certain things that were weighing heavily on my heart, She held the one piece of the puzzle that felt missing from my heart... who my biological father was?!! Tis the Season.... Why I Am Proud of Local Tattoo Shop!!!

  Page 307 of 366. Good Afternoon Lovies. I am not sure how long this blurb is going to be; as it seems to be a topic I have been beating to death this past year. I know it is the time of the year where we switch from Halloween/Samhain into Thanksgiving (in the US) to Yule/Christmas season.  I hate pointing out this fact, but people seem to feel like Christmas time is the only time of the year that they should be charitable...  Is it out of guilt that you are donating, or is it because you genuinely feel you should be helping people??? I AM sort of calling you out because this is NOT the only time of the year that the homeless, or the downtrodden need help. I cannot stand that this is around the only time you will see non-stop commercials/ads or billboards that are asking for help with various charities; also the time we see commercials about driving under the influence.
