Things That Should Never Be...

Wow. I know it is late; but I was just about to be in a pleasant slumber when things kinda startled me, and now I am fully awake again...

Don't worry, I fully intend on getting a night of complete shut-eye once I get this off my chest!!!

I know this may feel like it is coming out of left-field, but in recent months and years, these situations are become a regular thing; and something we all should prepare for.

I am not going to get into specifics, as to why I am writing this one tonight; especially since I wouldn't give the man any justice on writing about him. He was a mere neighbour I waved and said "Hey" to, that was the extent of our friendship. (It IS his story that is on my mind; therefore writing this blurb so late in the night)!!!

This man, like a few others before him (some of whom I was good friends with), have been found deceased in their homes. A couple of them had been found after days, or even WEEKS after their passing. I am sorry... that statistic alone blows my mind!!!

As a neighbour, I knew there was a smell coming from his apartment BUT he lived right next to the garbabge chute; which has been functioning like shyt for months and months. I DID say several times, that it smells like death and he is dead... no one really listened to me; what do I know, right???

There was another one where the man was deceased on his toilet for a week. This one really hurt me, because he was always a decent man to me, and others. The sad part came through by the fact that HOW DID NO ONE MISS HIM???

I guess this once again made me face my own mortality. I live alone. My health isn't in the greatest shape and I am very much a home-body. Yes, I have kids and grandkids; but I don't have regular contact with them; let alone live in the same area as they do.

I just want to leave y'all with one thought...

Check on your loved ones. Don't leave the "I love yous" until tomorrow. Don't assume you have all the time in the world to catch up because everything can be gone in a heartbeat. Sorry, stuck in my head tonight
