When Justice Doesn't Get Served...

 

Hi y'all. 

This topic will have a TRIGGER WARNING on it. It is not something that is a particular entry that affects me directly; but I am enraged, none the less...

I need to bring up how useless our judicial system is. When you read this blurb, you will be as furious as I am, and know that we need a massive change to the system, before people are going to turn and take things into their own hands.

(Honestly, I am soooo appalled by this, if the women in this article were my grandmothers, I would be catching charges because there is no fkn way I would allow a POS like him wander around free as a bird, while they are traumatised from the shit he did to them.)

HAMILTON - SEXUAL ASSAULT SUSPECT RELEASED - Hamilton Police are warning the public after a 22-year-old male accused of violent sexual assaults, including breaking into an elderly woman's home and assaulting her, was recently RELEASED ON BAIL.
He appeared at a bail hearing on February 10, 2025, and was released pending his trial.
These were violent incidents that targeted vulnerable victims.
On Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at approximately 9:30AM, a woman was walking in the area of Upper Paradise and Donnici Drive when she was approached by an unknown male and dragged off the trail into a wooded area. The victim was gagged and her wrists bound behind her back. The male proceeded to assault her, but was interrupted by witnesses walking by the area. The suspect fled on foot southbound towards Upper Paradise and was later seen on video in the area of Edgehill Drive.
On August 7, 2023, a 74-year-old female was alone in her residence on the West Mountain when an unknown male entered her residence and confronted her when she was sleeping. The male assaulted the victim for over an hour before leaving the residence on foot. Again, investigators were unable to identify the suspect.

In January 2024, forensic evidence enabled investigators to connect the 2022 and 2023 assaults to the same male suspect. Hamilton Police assembled a project team to identify and locate the offender.
Through the course of the investigation, Hamilton Police detectives have information that lead them to believe Cheruiyot remains a threat to the community and are taking steps to warn the public by releasing Cheruiyot’s photo.

Now after reading all that, please explain to me, how someone like him is walking freely among the public, awaiting trial??? I can't for the life of me understand the judicial system and the thought process of the courts anymore. They throw people in prison for a helluva lot less. This man didn't just got after women... 

He went after two vulnerable, elderly women... one who was clearly out for her morning walk, feeling safe and comfortable with her environment; the other one was in her bed, sleeping. She was in her own home, a place where she should never fear being. 

(To me, these are the most hideous of crimes; the worst of the worst. Crimes against women, children, disabled... any crimes that affect the vulnerable should not be "dismissed" or "hidden under a rug" by society).

I really don't want to get into what I am really thinking about this POS because there is nothing good to come of it. All I can really say is, I will memorize his face. I will be more vigilant when I go out. I DO kind of wonder WHY the police would release a photo of this "person"??? 

The first thing that came to my mind, is the police want to wipe their hands clean of this fool; they are tossing him to the streets because they also feel there is only one way to get justice and peace of mind to everyone involved. At the end of the day, my thoughts are with the women and their loved ones who are worried about them. Their caregivers, who helped them cope with this and continue to help them deal with this trauma.

    OUR SYSTEM IS BROKEN! OUR SYSTEM IS FAILING US ALL!!!

UGH... I gotta stop. Just writing this is making me feel too many things to even describe in the moment.
