Good Morning Lovies. I hope your day is going well. It's going to be warm out today, so it'll be a cuppa tea and blogging day for me.
I really don't have a specific topic in mind, but I did want to give y'all an update on the happenings in this place I live in and my on-going battle with the big corporation of slumlords.
I refuse to give up the good fight!!!
My guests who are staying at my place, who are the former superintendents of this building, have a case against the company for all their violations of the human rights code; at least that part is in place. I have contacted the city, but that was pointless because it looks like bylaw has given up on this building... it literally has left the tenants hanging; not enforcing any of the laws these POS are breaking.
That has lead to me calling the MPP (Member of Provincial Parliament), which, here in Canada, is the a step below calling federal. MP was conpletely useless, just like the local councilman for my area. I am happy to say that the MPP gave me a great idea, telling me to go above all the BS and contact the Fire Marshall.
The Fire Marshall DID get on the horn and we had a Fire Inspector here are the building within 48 hours; and the company got slapped with several violations. I had to giggle when the company flat out LIED to the Inspector's face; something that just got them into more trouble.
(Like if you're gonna lie about something, at least make sure it can't be proven IDIOTS!!!)
The first time he visited the building, he left a violation order at the front of the building, stating what needed to be done to comply with the code and standards. It showed the "owner's name" and the man I absolutely despise on the paper. (My evil heart skipped a beat)...Funny thing was, the owner's name was not the actual owner's name... it's another thing they are lying about...
To make a very long story short, the Inspector came to see me a few days later and assured me, that the concerns I have brought up, are being dealt with; and he had given them several more things for them to fix that were in violation too. I didn't ask, and I didn't want to know.
I saw a notice on the door about the violations on Friday, it "disappeared" on Saturday, but was replaced on Monday. Needless to say, the Inspector must have been back, as this new notice had a new date for them to get things done, except now they need to prove to him they have licenses and the proper permits to do the work, in the allotted time.
YAH, THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN!!!
Call me a bitch. Call me a PITA. I really don't care what you're going to call me. I am fighting for my human rights, and fighting for the right to have a safe and healthy, clean home environment that I pay for faithfully, every month for the past 13 years. There are no marks against me in my file, at all... other than the asshole Director of Operations, threatening to "write me up" if I don't stop....
WHAT ARE WE IN KINDERGARTEN???
Get Bent!!! Anything they say or attempt to do since we have filed the human rights case and me contacting the MP will be viewed as retaliation from the company. Tenants are tired of the bullshit. We pay our rent, we have created a community among ourselves; and this is our home! We have the right to demand a clean, safe and respectable place to be in... not just them attempting to fix the cosmetics to draw in new tenants. This is my rant of the day.
