Baby, Baby, It's a Mad World TRIGGER WARNING TRIGGER WARNING
Good Morning Lovies. I would love to greet you all with bright, beautiful salutations; but alas, my heart is heavy with a story that brought me to my knees and full of sorrow for a woman I did not even know... yet, I know her story well. I am posting the link here of the story before I write my feelings on the situation, so you may all have a better understanding of the case.
Here is the link:
Spanish Woman Wins Legal Battle for Euthanasia
I will begin by saying I live in Canada and we do have M.A.I.D. which is basically our polite way of saying "Dying with Dignity"; before you all get your panties in a twist, I DO agree with it to some degree, but this is something I will discuss more on another day and in greater depth.
Today, however, I wanted to talk about Noelia Castillo ~ Yes... SAY HER NAME!!!
I am NOT going to make this about politics, or how it was migrants that are the problem here... or even the fact that it is the system that failed her... she was in and out of the system since she was very young, growing up, in and out of group homes. That is NOT what my story is about. What is it about... THIS!!!
Noelia was a young woman with a bright future, someone who had a life to look forward to. We do not know what she could have accomplished or who should could have become. She was robbed of that, the night several "men" (pigs) chose to violate her. RAPE HER. You may as well say they took her soul. Her essence that day.
Any woman (and I am sure man) who has been sexually assaulted, abused, raped have been mentally, emotionally and psychologically damaged to varying degrees. Some are able to cope with what ahs happened to them. Some are able to seek therapy and go on to live their lives with acceptance. Others have done therapy and other necessary coping skills to make it through life, while others, struggle with their demons every waking hour. Others, cannot get passed them and accept that the only peace they will have is when they leave this earthly plane.
NO ONE HAS THE RIGHT TO JUDGE HOW SOMEONE COPES WITH THEIR OWN TRAUMA. The saying "try walking a mile in my shoes is NOT accurate. Try sitting in my mind for more than an hour!!!"Noelia Castillo is a brave woman, She struggled immensely. Shortly after she was gang raped, she attempted suicide, which resulted in her becoming a paraplegic. I could not imagine the way she suffered after surviving that. Not only was she now suffering physically; she was now stuck in a chair, or bed... constantly thinking... over-thinking.
Stuck in her mind. Trust, I KNOW what that does to a person.
When I learned that she was granted by two different courts to be euthanized; I felt a sense of peace for her. She was never going to feel peace any other way. The men who did this to her were walking around free, never facing ANY consequences for what they did to her. Where is the justice???
To end this, I have a few words for the people who are screaming about how wrong she was. One, you have no right to judge her and her decisions when you have not been through her situation. Two, saying she is wrong for wanting to be rid of her eternal pain is selfish of you. Three, saying she is "going to hell" is from your asinine religious views.
Four... and this is a big one...
WHY do people have more love and compassion for their pets than they do for their fellow humans? When your beloved pet is suffering from unimaginable pain; isn't the proper thing to do, to euthanize them; and give them eternal peace? Stop being hypocrites.
No, I am not comparing humans to animals. I am just disgusted at how the world is more considerate to animals than they are for fellow mankind. This world is ass backwards when people are screaming at how wrong the victim is, but not concerned with how the assholes who put her there are free as birds!!!
